Downtown Office Move and Support
I handled the downtown IT move from Bow Valley to the SLB building for a small office of around 30 senior leaders and sales leaders.. This was a hands-on move where the goal was simple, everyone needed to be able to walk in and work on day one.
I was designated to this site for supporting daily operations and was directly involved in the work end to end, from packing and logistics through to setup and post-move support.
During the move, I focused on:
- Helping pack and coordinate the movement of IT equipment and desk bins
- Setting up new desks and workstations in the SLB office
- Getting printing and internet processes working properly in the new space
- Troubleshooting first-day issues quickly so people could stay productive
- Providing white-glove support for the team over the following weeks to make sure everyone stayed operational and any problems were resolved as they came up
After the move, I was formally recognized for my stellar support and for going above and beyond to keep everything running during and after the transition.

Passed: Cloud+ Certification (CV0-004)
Working through Cloud+ has mainly helped broaden my understanding of cloud networking and security, and it has been my first real step into infrastructure as code and automation-driven operations.
Along the way, I:
- Built a stronger understanding of availability, resiliency, and how failures move through cloud architectures
- learned about VPC load balancing, identity, access control, and shared responsibility
- Learned how monitoring, alerting, backup, and recovery fit into real operational workflows
- Connected vendor-neutral cloud concepts directly to the AWS services and operational patterns I work with in practice
This work has helped shift how I think about infrastructure, from building systems to operating them.

Passed: Linux+ Certification (XK0-006)
Earning the Linux+ certification is more than a milestone, it’s validation of the skills I’ve built building my home lab, making the switch from windows and gaining command line prowess.
Along the way, I:
- Strengthened my grasp of system architecture, networking, scripting, and container orchestration.
- Applied security best practices to real-world use cases.
- Gained familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) and DevOps workflows.
This journey was about more than passing an exam. It sharpened how I think as a systems operator. Learning to think proactively, methodically, and with an eye on both the terminal and the bigger picture.

Passed: LPI Linux Essentials Certification
As part of my foundational deep dive into Linux system administration and open-source tooling, I successfully passed the LPI Linux Essentials certification through the Linux Professional Institute.
This Certification validated core competencies including:
- Command-line navigation and file system operations
- Package management, permissions, and system architecture
- Understanding the Linux community, open-source licensing, and processes
Preparing for this exam strengthened both my theoretical understanding and my daily applied use of Linux across server environments, container platforms, and my homelab.

Recognized for OUtstanding IT Support
I was honored to be named in a company-wide appreciation message from our Strategic Planning Director for going above and beyond in IT support and new employee onboarding.
Working in a fast-paced environment where technical readiness directly impacts operational success, I collaborated closely with teammates to:
- Ensure seamless hardware and software setups for new hires
- Deliver fast, responsive support under tight timeframes
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
This recognition from leadership—including shoutouts from directors across infrastructure, global IT, and planning—reinforced the value of consistency, initiative, and customer-minded service.
